She knew it was getting closer to the end of the month.

And somehow, instead of looking forward to the days ahead, she was beginning to worry.

She knew what was coming.

First, the familiar heaviness.

Then the cramps.

Then the pain that would slowly take over her day.

Sometimes it started mildly, almost quietly. But before long, she would find herself pressing a hand against her lower abdomen, trying to find a position that made the pain a little easier to bear.

There were days she couldn't concentrate.

Days when work became difficult.

Days when she simply wanted to stay in bed and wait for it to pass.

And every month, she told herself the same thing:

“It will soon be over.”

So she endured.

She took something for the pain when she needed to. She rested when she could. She cancelled plans when the pain became too much.

Then, eventually, the pain would disappear.

And life would return to normal.

Until the next month.

It had become a cycle she had learned to live with—but never really understood.

Until one day, she began to ask herself:

“Why does my period have to hurt this much?”

That was Ada's story.

And perhaps, in some way, it is your story too.
