This 50-hour 2 CPD Credits hands-on practical course uses interactive conceptualization, individual and group projects as well as case studies, to impart skills for effective local and international arbitration/representation.  The course covers the following topics:

·       Dispute Resolution Clauses; Judicial Review; and Intervention.

·       Preliminary Meeting; Pleadings; and Interlocutory Processes.

·       Opening Statements; Case Presentation; and Expert witnesses.

·       Examination in Chief; Cross-Examination; Re-Examination; and Closing Arguments. 

·       Hearing in Civil and Common Law Jurisdictions: Differences, and Convergence.

·       Types, Essential Ingredients, and Format of Awards.

·       Enforcement of Awards: Local/International; Proactive Award Enforcement.

·       Arbitration Exercises;.

· Take-Home Assignments: Review of critical arbitration practice literature.
