Hey there,
My name is Ikenna Victor Agina, I am the founder of an eCommerce & Digital marketing company "Afia Online." The company was registered withe the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2018.
I Used To Import From China. Then I Found Out The Market Down The Road Was Selling It Cheaper Than What I Imported.
I'll never forget it. I had just cleared a shipment — paid for the goods, paid for shipping, paid customs, waited weeks for it to land. I was so sure I had a good deal.
Then I walked into a local market to compare prices, just out of curiosity.
The exact same item. Cheaper than what I imported it for.
Not a little cheaper — cheaper enough that all my "importation hustle," the weeks of waiting, the forex wahala, the customs stress — all of it had been for nothing.
I could have just bought locally and saved myself the headache and the money. That was the moment something clicked for me.

If the goods were already sitting in the market, cheaper, and ready — why was I stressing myself importing and stocking?
So I flipped the entire model.
I stopped importing. I stopped buying in bulk. I stopped tying my money down in stock that might not even sell.
First, I had to solve the biggest problem: finding suppliers I could actually trust. Not just anyone claiming to sell in bulk — I needed people who were responsive, who gave good, fair prices, and who wouldn't disappear after I sent money. It took time, but I built that list.
Then I brought in pickers — people on ground in the market who source and confirm items for me directly.
Then I partnered with a waybill company that runs checks to make sure what's being sent out is correct — right item, right size, right quality — before it ever reaches a customer.
I don't hold stock. I don't import. I don't tie down capital. I just connect buyers to what's already available — and I get paid daily doing it.

Having good suppliers and confirmed quality meant nothing if I had nobody to sell to. So I set up specific ads designed to pull the right people into a WhatsApp community — people who were actually interested in buying, not just window shopping.
But getting people into a group is easy. Getting them to actually pay a stranger, on WhatsApp, before they'd even seen the product in person — that's the part almost nobody figures out.
I developed a specific approach to how I communicated and showed up in that community that made people trust me enough to do something most strangers online never do: pay upfront.
Once that trust was there, something interesting started happening. People in my community started reposting the items themselves — sharing them to their own status, their own contacts — and sending me payment upfront. I would then pay my supplier and fulfill the order through my pickers and waybill contact.
