There are some questions that transcend nations,
congregations and generations. One of such is the woman
question. Are women subservient to men? Can a woman
lead a church? Are men and women equal before God?
Questions…questions…questions.
What makes this situation precarious is that there are as
many answers as there are sands on the seashore
depending on who you consider your authority: your
tradition, religion or family background.
Just like when a professor wrote on the board the following
words and asked everyone to put the right punctuation:
“A WOMAN WITHOUT HER MAN IS NOTHING”
All the men put the punctuation like this:
A WOMAN, WITHOUT HER MAN, IS NOTHING
But all the women put the punctuation thus:
A WOMAN, WITHOUT HER, MAN IS NOTHING
This shows how interpretations could be very diverse. But
when all is said and done the only authority over a product is
the manual. This product called woman has a manual
written by the manufacturer.
