We Are Building the Continent's First Roster of Fashion-Specialist Mediators and Arbitrators.

The AFODRC is only as strong as the practitioners who sit on its panels. We are actively recruiting and training mediators and arbitrators with direct experience in fashion law, IP, commercial law, and the African creative economy, building the specialist faculty that this centre, and this industry, requires.

ADR Training Programme For practitioners who want to develop their fashion dispute resolution credentials, AFODRC offers a dedicated ADR training programme — covering the principles of fashion industry mediation and arbitration, the specific legal and commercial dynamics of fashion disputes, AFODRC rules of procedure, and panel practice standards. Completion of the programme qualifies practitioners for consideration for appointment to the AFODRC panel.

The training covers:

• Fashion industry dispute landscape — the most common dispute types, parties, and dynamics
• Mediation skills for creative industry conflicts — power imbalances, IP valuation, relationship preservation
• Arbitration procedure under the AFODRC rules — case management, hearings, and awards
• Ethics and confidentiality standards for fashion ADR practitioners
• Cross-border dispute considerations across African jurisdictions
