COCOONS TO WINGS: THE JOURNEY OF COMFORT TO RENEWAL

The anthology ‘Cocoons to Wings’ is born from the Yemipoet Monthly Contest, June Edition 2025, themed “Comfort Zone.”

The collection explores identity, fear, and metamorphosis continuously. It takes many different forms, among them, such as familiarity that gradually turns into a cage, softness that restrains, and stillness that both shields and limits. What seems to be stability eventually turns into restraint, and what starts as safety frequently turns out to be stagnation. The conflict between remaining in the known and venturing into the unknown is at the core of this collection.

Each poem revisits the point at which ease starts to feel heavy, and growth necessitates sacrifices, courage, and major changes, whether it is presented through cages, castles, or calm personal memories. Before being abandoned, comfort is scrutinized, questioned, and occasionally lamented.

This anthology ultimately serves as a necessary confrontation with the stagnation of safety and remaining in one's comfort zone. It maps the uneasy transition from vulnerability to liberation, inviting readers to leave certainty and predictability and embrace the turbulence of transformation and find profound strength in the courageous pursuit of an uncharted life.
