The Lawyer in the Creative Economy — 2026 Career Training for Lawyers
Africa's creative economy is on fire. Nigerian music is conquering global charts. Nollywood is closing landmark deals with the world's biggest streamers. Our designers, athletes, gamers and artists are building empires — and every empire needs a lawyer.
The question is: will that lawyer be you?
What is this training?
The 2026 edition of Lawlexis International's flagship Career Training for Lawyers series is a two-day, practice-focused masterclass that equips legal practitioners to advise, represent and profit alongside Africa's booming creative industries. Since 2018, Lawlexis has trained hundreds of Nigerian lawyers through this series, with faculty drawn from the country's top law firms and businesses. This year, we go deep into the creative economy — across six high-impact modules:
Music Law — recording deals, royalties, streaming economics, artist management and copyright disputes
Film Law — Nollywood production agreements, streaming licensing, talent contracts and content regulation
Fashion Law — trademark protection, brand licensing, influencer contracts and combating counterfeits
Art Law — gallery agreements, cultural property, NFTs and digital art
Gaming & Esports Law — game publishing deals, esports contracts and Nigeria's gaming regulation landscape
Sports Law — transfer agreements, image rights, athlete representation and sports arbitration
Plus cross-cutting themes on AI and creative works, financing creative ventures, and data protection.
