Praxis: Companion for a Liberatory Knowledge Practice is a meditative tool for a deliberate knowledge practice that fuels our internal revolutions. It is an invitation to stand in the ruins and build new technologies of sustenance that resist capture, hopes that defy subjugation, and new decolonial, indigenous, and endogenous epistemic traditions of flourishing. This includes a knowledge practice that recentres the body as a site of knowledge, honours our histories, and carefully cultivates resistance, critical consciousness, and liberatory dreaming.
Premised on the Yoruba philosophy Ohun ti ẹyẹ bá jẹ ni ẹyẹ á gbe fò (What a bird eats is what it takes to flight). It is an invitation to the practice of knowledge as political sustenance, centering our attention as a site of struggle. Praxis exists to cultivate the conditions under which different kinds of answers and questions can emerge. It insists on carrying the body as an active participant in knowledge and intelligence that are usually excluded from dominant epistemologies, yet remain central to how we experience life, truth and meaning.
