Ashes and Dawn: Rachael's Sweet Revenge

Synopsis

In a feudal valley split by generations of hatred between two households, Rachael — cousin to William, Victor, and Evelyn Brown — falls into a forbidden love with Harry, whose family has long stood against the Browns. They meet in secret, always at the old oak, always after dark.

Years of cruelty from the Browns fester into open resentment among the villagers. When Harry is killed, the fragile peace breaks apart. Rachael, already estranged from William and Victor because of her devotion to Harry, is drawn into the villagers' rising revolt against the manor.

As the siege closes in, loyalties crack. Evelyn breaks from her brothers and sides with the villagers, drawn to Alex, Harry's oldest friend. William falls in the great hall at Alex's hand. Victor lunges for Rachael and is cut down by the crowd. The manor burns.

Rachael returns to the oak where grief finally claims her. Alex and Evelyn find her and bury her beside Harry — the valley's long war ending where it began, under the same tree.
