I cherish having and hosting guest speakers. It is an
eternal opportunity for me to rest my mind and also
enjoy inspiring messages from another ministry as a
pastor. It is a privilege for our congregation to listen to
the gospel message of God’s kingdom shared from a
different perspective. It is a window to hear a
specialist with a specific message and specialised gift.
Above all, it is a chance for others who have never
come in contact with our church or ministry to find us
because of a guest speaker’s program advert.
But, I have seen torn apart by guest speakers whose
other motives were outside God’s kingdom purpose.
Some of these were fame, increase their empire reach
and get money without caring how ethically or
righteously it comes.
So, I have learned a few lessons about inviting
speakers or being invited too as a guest minister. I
feel compelled to share some of the lessons that
would aid us to get the best from either our guest
ministers or from us as guest ministers.
