Jesus Christ, The Lord

I’ve been a Christian for almost two decades and I have noticed a very common but also a profound statement made by many Christians. It is arguably one of the most popular declarations that ‘Jesus is Lord’. I grew up hearing this statement said over and over again. At some point, I realised that I need to pause and consider what this means especially to a believer in Jesus Christ. I’m aware that many Christians who will read this write up or may not are searching for answers in this regard, just like me. I had already joined the bandwagon in declaring: Jesus is Lord, but I never understood it or should I say that I had a very shallow depth of understanding of what it meant. In a world where competitions and comparisons are held in high regards, the question of who is the greatest of all time becomes imperative to answer. In diverse fields of study and endeavours, a lot of parameters have been set forward as a yard stick to measure greatness and to decide who is the best. If we compare these parameters with those of the kingdom of God, can we say that they agree or that they are totally divergent?
