Welcome to the Melody Buffet – where students get to "taste" different types of songs!

This free, creative PowerPoint introduces CBC students to the wonderful variety of songs in Kenyan culture and beyond.

What is a Melody Buffet?

Instead of lecturing about song types, students experience them. Each "dish" is a short song excerpt (30-60 seconds). Students listen, describe, and vote on their favourite.

Each "dish" includes:

• A short listening excerpt (YouTube link embedded)
• 2-3 guided questions (What do you hear? How does it make you feel? Where would you hear this song?)
• A simple visual (students remember better with images)
