THE BETTING MIRAGE

Sports betting has become a new normal in Ghana and many countries across Africa. As someone who has walked close to the edge myself, I understand why so many people find it difficult to stop gambling. I owed it to myself, and to my younger siblings, to talk extensively about the subject and offer practical guidance for breaking free from this disease.

If you are addicted to sports betting or gambling in general, this is for you. If you are a friend, a colleague, a partner, or a family member of someone who is addicted, this is for you. If you are unsure whether you are addicted, this is for you. If you are a church leader, a parent, a boss, a policymaker, a media personnel, or any person of influence in any capacity, this is for you.

We cannot be silent and watch the people we love, and the future of our dear country and continent, gamble away their potential. Because at its core, betting and gambling in general is MAN'S SEARCH FOR CONTROL in the face of an uncertain world.
