TOPIC: THE HOLINESS OF GOD IN A MAN
introduction:
"Pursuing Holiness: A Devotional Journey"
By Pastor Goodness Eni
As believers, we are called to reflect the character and nature of God in our daily lives. However, in today's world, it's easy to get distracted and lose sight of what truly matters. That's why I've put together this devotional journey, "Pursuing Holiness: A Devotional Journey". My desire is to help you cultivate a deeper understanding of God's holiness and to inspire you to pursue a life of holiness in your own walk with God.
The reason for this devotion is simple: God is holy, and He desires for us to be holy as well. As it is written in 1 Peter 1:16, "Be holy, for I am holy". This scripture serves as a reminder that our holy God demands a holy people. When we strive for holiness, we are not just trying to live a moral life, but we are seeking to reflect the very nature of God in our thoughts, words, and actions.
Over the next chapters, we'll explore what it means to live a holy life, and how we can practically apply biblical principles to our daily lives. We'll delve into topics such as gratitude, self-control, meditation, and loving God with all our heart, soul, and mind. My prayer is that this devotion will be a catalyst for spiritual growth and transformation in your life, and that you will be inspired to pursue a life of holiness that honors God. (Goodness Eni)
Let's embark on this journey together, shall we?

CHAPTER ( 1): THE CALL TO HOLINESS:
{Scripture: Leviticus 20:26}
"Be holy, for I am holy."
Reflection:
In this scripture, God calls us to be holy, just as He is holy. But what does it mean to be holy? Holiness is not just about avoiding sin, but about being set apart for God's purposes. It's about living a life that is pleasing to Him, and reflecting His character in all we do.
To be holy, we must first understand that we are not holy in and of ourselves. Our sinful nature makes us unholy, and we need God's intervention to make us holy. But when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He makes us holy through His sacrifice on the cross.
Focus of Thoughts:
As you reflect on this scripture, ask yourself:
- What does holiness mean to me?
- How can I live a life that is pleasing to God?
- What are some areas in my life where I need to resist sin and follow God's ways?
- How can I reflect God's character in all I do?
Action Step:
Take a few minutes to reflect on your life and identify areas where you need to make changes to live a more holy life. Write down specific actions you can take to resist sin and follow God's ways. Share your thoughts with a friend or accountability partner and ask for their support and encouragement.
*Memory Verse:- Leviticus 20:26

Prayer Point:
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for calling me to be holy. I recognize that I am not holy in and of myself, but that You have made me holy through the sacrifice of Jesus. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to You, and to reflect Your character in all I do. Give me the strength and courage to resist sin and to follow Your ways. In Jesus' name, Amen. (Goodness Eni)
CHAPTER (2): THE FEAR OF THE LORD
{Scripture: Proverbs 9:10}
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
_Reflection:_
The fear of the Lord is not a trembling fear, but a reverence for His power and majesty. It's a recognition of His sovereignty and authority over our lives. When we fear the Lord, we begin to understand the importance of living a life that is pleasing to Him.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom because it helps us to see the world from God's perspective. It gives us a sense of awe and wonder at His creation and His power. It helps us to understand that we are not the center of the universe, but that God is.
_Focus of Thoughts:_
As you reflect on this scripture, ask yourself:
- What does the fear of the Lord mean to me?
- How can I develop a healthy reverence for God's power and majesty?
- How does the fear of the Lord impact my daily life and decisions?
- What are some ways that I can demonstrate my fear of the Lord in my relationships and interactions with others?
_Action Step:_
Take a few minutes to reflect on your relationship with God. Ask yourself if you have a healthy reverence for His power and majesty. Write down specific ways that you can demonstrate your fear of the Lord in your daily life and relationships. Share your thoughts with a friend or accountability partner and ask for their support and encouragement.
