There was a time I carried so much weight in my heart—betrayals, disappointments, wounds I
thought would never heal. I replayed the hurt over and over, convincing myself that holding on
somehow gave me control. But the truth? It only held me back.
Then I heard something that changed everything: “Unforgiveness is like taking poison and
expecting the other person to feel the pain.
” That hit deep. I realized I was the one suffering, not
them. I had to make a choice—not for them, but for me.
Forgiveness doesn't always mean you get to maintain the relationship with those who hurt you.
Sometimes, it’s about loving yourself enough to walk away, to create space for healing, and to
choose peace over pain. So I did. And for the first time in a long time, I felt free—truly free.
That’s the heart behind “Free,
” the title track of my upcoming EP. It’s my story, but it might be
yours too.
Who would’ve thought that letting go could feel this good?
