When Menopause Comes Without Warning

Navigating Treatment-Induced Menopause After Cancer

Menopause does not always arrive gradually or at the expected stage of life. For some women, cancer treatment can bring on menopause suddenly, creating a new set of physical, emotional, and psychological challenges while they are already navigating recovery.

In this recorded session from the Global Menoeduca-thon 2026, Dr. Sulbha Arya, an Oncologist and Midlife Hormonal Health Specialist from India, explores the often-overlooked experience of treatment-induced menopause after cancer.

This session offers an important perspective on what happens after cancer treatment—when surviving cancer is only one part of the journey and women must also learn to understand and rebuild their health.

What You Will Learn

What treatment-induced menopause means and why it can happen unexpectedly

The physical and emotional changes women may experience after cancer treatment

How menopause-related symptoms can affect recovery and quality of life

Understanding fatigue, brain fog, sleep disturbances and metabolic changes

The importance of addressing hormonal health during cancer survivorship

Practical perspectives on rebuilding health, confidence and identity after treatment

Why menopause care should be part of the conversation beyond cancer survival

If you or someone you love has experienced menopause as a result of cancer treatment, this is a conversation worth having—and revisiting.
