the bishop, Secrets

The Bishop is dead.

The funeral is today.

And the house is full of people who know too much.

On the day they bury one of Nigeria’s most powerful men of God, his sons return home to a court thick with perfume, power, and secrets that have been rotting for years. Money that vanished. Rituals that were never supposed to happen. A foundation under investigation. A Steward who disappears at dawn and returns with strangers no one can name.

What starts as a family funeral becomes a quiet war over truth, legacy, and the price of miracles.

the Bishop, Secrets is a sharp, atmospheric novel about faith that compromises, power that corrupts, and the children left to clean up the kingdom. It moves between the polished image of the church and the things done in back rooms, between the gospel and older forces that still demand payment. For anyone who has watched Nigerian religious power up close or from the diaspora, this one will feel uncomfortably familiar.

Written for readers who like their stories dark, intelligent, and unwilling to look away.
