THE PURPOSE OF THIS BOOK

This book focuses on orphans, widows and widowers; and their life challenges and successes. Its purpose is to make a positive impact in our little way. 

Specifically, the aims of the book include:

1. Communicating the plight of the demographic to prick the conscience of different bodies, such as governmental, non governmental and religious organisations; as well as influencers and philanthropists that could make positive differences to the plight of this demographic. 
2. To share the success stories of victims in order to encourage and inspire victims or vulnerable people facing the similar plights. 
3. To celebrate the vulnerable who have become achievers in spite of their challenges.
4. To raise funds to support the demographic and NGO’s interested in the welfare of the demographic.
5. To give a broader perspective of life, especially to the younger generations.
6. To give back to society.

INTRODUCTION

Some times in our journey through life, we find it difficult to comprehend misfortunes that come our way. We may be tempted to doubt the reality or existence of a just God; and ask ourselves, “If God truly loves us, why did He let this to happen?”

One of the greatest mistakes we must not make is to question the doings of God. This is because whatever He allows to happen to us, is for a purpose; and the least we should do when we cannot bear it any more, is to anchor our hope on Him and keep moving on; believing that all will all be well again. 

It is important to understand that whatever challenge; such as the loss of loved ones, that you have to confront in life, never means the end of your life. It is only a phase phase in life that will eventually roll over if it is approached with a mindset of resilience, positivity and a growth.

Also, bear in mind that you are not the first to go through that loss and will not be the last. As a matter of fact, many of the highly successful people in the world today were those who passed through similar or greater devastating conditions but refused to let their challenges impede their progress or greater purpose. 

By learning from such experiences, one could also be inspired to achieve greater heights. This would definitely be a difficult but possible journey. 

This book includes real stories of day to day people who’ve shared their life journeys; their successes, challenges and otherwise. 

As you read this book, let it encourage, strengthen and inspire you to move on to pursue your best life in spite of your loss or difficulty in life.

If life is good, remember the less fortunate ones regularly. Be generous to them with what you can. If you can’t add value materially; put a smile on their faces; share a kind word; signpost them to goodness; share a little prayer; or add any value that you can.
