ABOUT THE TRAINING

According to statistics, "85% of local churches are not scripturally healthy in their communities" as stated by a church growth consultant. The phrase "not scripturally healthy" means not achieving all round growth. That is, numerical growth, spiritual growth, quality growth, leadership growth, financial growth, social growth and expansion growth.

One major reason for this is because churches are yet to make TRAINING of their workers a CULTURE and PRIORITY. Churches that don't have the culture of training their workers may SUFFER any or all of the following:

1. Stop growing and remain small, struggling and stagnant.

2. Their workers will remain lame-duck, lukewarm and redundant in their spiritual life.

3. The church is always known for negative news - infighting, animosity, ethnic bias, injustice and unending crisis.

4. The pastor is consistently frustrated and resolve to thinking the devil and all his demons are against his church.

5. The church becomes a sign of mockery in their neighborhood.

6. No serious person seeking God will ever consider that church as a place to go and serve God.

7. The host community of the church sees them as a liability.

Training and continuous training of church workers is one of the fundamental secrets for a local church to experience all round growth and be socially relevant to her host community.

Training of workers is equipping, empowering and enabling them to discover and use their gifts and graces for ministry within the local church as they remain committed to supporting their pastor to achieving the all round growth of the church.

One of the benefits in persistency and consistency in training of church workers is for them to WORK TOGETHER in love, acceptance and forgiveness thereby achieving peace and unity which are the prerequisite for the progress and all round growth of the church.

So, the all round growth of any church is hinged to a large extent on the continuous training of their workers.
