I capture and chronicle life in the slums of Ibadan, Nigeria, exploring how material poverty and structural violence shape the lives of its inhabitants. The book documents the grim realities of child hawking, the sacrificial nature of motherhood, and a political landscape dominated by stomach infrastructure.
I emphasise that in the ghetto, education is often viewed with scepticism due to a lack of visible success stories and a desperate need for immediate survival. Ultimately, the book aims to document the unfiltered memories of my childhood community and inspire a new generation to transcend their environment through persistence and academic pursuit.
