Motherhood is a journey that rarely follows the script we envision. For me, becoming a mom of four has been both a beautiful blessing and a profound lesson in faith and resilience. Each of my children came into the world through an elective C-section—each for different medical reasons, and each experience stretched me in ways I never expected.
In my first pregnancy, I was diagnosed with placenta previa at nine months. My doctor explained the risks: if I attempted a vaginal birth, there could be severe bleeding that could endanger both my baby and me. I was scared, but I knew I had to trust the professionals—and trust God.
In my second pregnancy, I went past my estimated due date. The baby showed no signs of descending or engaging, and the risks increased. Again, a C-section was advised. I had hoped for a different experience this time, but peace came when I remembered that the goal was a safe delivery.
By the time I was pregnant with my third and fourth babies, the decision was clear. Due to my history, the safest route was an elective C-section. Though I knew what to expect medically, and emotionally it was never easy. But through each step, I found courage and peace in the Word of God. Verses like Isaiah 41:10 reminded me: "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God."
God also blessed me abundantly with a thorough and compassionate gynecologist, a supportive husband who stood by me in every season, caring in-laws who helped with home needs, and my lovely parents and siblings who prayed and encouraged me constantly. I truly saw the hand of God through their love.
This book was born out of a deep desire to encourage women facing similar paths. You may be anxious, unsure, or even grieving the birth plan you hoped for. But I want you to know you are not alone. You are not weak. You are not less of a mother.
A C-section, whether planned or unexpected, is still a birth—a miraculous entry into life. It is no less sacred or worthy. And most importantly, it can still be filled with God's presence, peace, and purpose.
God is still able to do the same for you. I am here to encourage you on this journey—because you don't have to walk it alone. Let these words be a companion on your road to motherhood and healing. Together, let's embrace our stories with grace and confidence.
