Why This Book Exists
People are sick. Not just physically — though that too. They are sick in their emotions, their memories, their relationships, and their sense of identity. And the church — the community that carries the Spirit of the risen Christ — has the most powerful healing resource in the universe. The question is whether it knows it. Whether it believes it. Whether it will use it.
Healing ministry has a complicated reputation. On one end: the fraud, the manipulation, the shamed and blamed, the ones told that if they just had more faith they would be well by now. On the other end: the quiet theological retreat, the pastors who stopped praying for the sick because they’d been hurt too many times by unanswered prayers and disappointed families.
Neither extreme honours God, serves people, or reflects the New Testament. This book is written for the large, honest, hungry middle — believers who know that healing is real, who have seen enough to stay curious, and who want a biblically grounded, experientially honest, and practically useful guide to what it actually looks like to carry the healing ministry of Jesus into the 21st century.
The gift of healing is not reserved for the platform. It was never meant to live there. It was designed to flow through the whole body of Christ — through your hands, your prayers, your compassionate presence — into the lives of every sick person God places in your path.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Keep a journal close as you read. Several chapters include s that invite you to reflect, pray, and record. The gift of healing grows through both the study of truth and the practice of faith — and your journal becomes the place where those two things meet.
