Redefining Pupose: Navigating the Common Conundrum of the Young

At some point in our lives, often in our early teens, or even just as we were growing up, still naïve and simply enjoying life, we began to hear unsolicited claims like, “You have a purpose in life, and there is a reason you were created on earth.”

Perhaps it would have been better if we were never told. But the moment we were, even while still young, we began the search for that big assignment. As we grow older, it begins to make even more sense that truly, we have a mission to fulfil on earth. And so, we ask parents, mentors, read books, and attend conferences, just to find this grand assignment we were meant to fulfil.

This reflective exposition (delivered at the first transition lecture in student communities globally) confronts that long-standing tension. It offers a guide toward a lasting resolution to the struggle young people face in finding purpose. As you journey through this lecture, you will encounter a framework that brings clarity and calm, an anchor in what often feels like an endless, anxious search for meaning.
