As the title implied, it was written for the “absolute beginner”. I have assumed zero knowledge.
Even if You just returned from a Cave and You are just hearing about “Project Management” for the first time in your life, the book was written for You.
By the time You are done reading, You would have gone from “zero” to “comfortable” in Project Management.
Every day, I get requests from people asking Me to “Mentor” them.
Last time I checked, Mentor was the name of a person.
I wouldn’t want to bore You with folklore.
However, Mentor devoted his life to raising Telemachus the Son of Odysseus.
Given that context, there is a limit to the number of people I can “mentor” personally. That is why I prefer to document my knowledge and thoughts in Books. That way I can reach more people without necessarily “mentoring” them personally.
In this eBook, I have documented my knowledge of Information Technology (IT) Project Management.
Project Management as a field is very wide, it cuts across different areas of Human endeavor. As a matter of fact, the bulk of what You do daily are Projects (as You will find out in this eBook).
Projects are temporary endeavors that Humans and Organizations engage in to produce a unique output. Projects have a definite start and end date. They have a scope, timeline and budget.
Writing this eBook was a Project for Me. I started writing it on a particular date and I completed it on a particular date. I had a scope for the topics I wanted to cover in the eBook. I had other constraints here and there.
Before I complete the eBook in the introduction, let me not digress any further.
Each chapter of this eBook is written as a “Standalone Chapter” and it was deliberate.
The goal is such that even if it is one chapter You are able to read,
You should be able to pick up a Project Management Concept from it.
You do not have to wait till You read to the end of the Book before You start learning.
The goal of this eBook is to provide You with the foundational knowledge of Project Management with more emphasis on Project Management in the Information Technology Space.
Well, I am an Information Technology Project Manager with over 10 years of experience in Managing Information Technology Projects.
In the words of the 21st Century Nigerian Hip-Hop Philosopher OdumoduBlvck, “Doings dey my Resumé”.
Everything I have documented in this eBook are things I practice on a daily basis. I am not teaching You theory, I am teaching You things I have done and I am still doing.
You do not have to take my word for it, Listen to Google instead.
