Corset Cutting and Making

Corset Cutting and Making features 19 vintage corset patterns and one brassiere pattern from the years 1900 to 1920. This collection offers a diverse array of unique styles, including everyday fashion, maternity and nursing wear, as well as athletic and equestrian designs.

The corset selection comprises nine Edwardian straight-front models (also known as S-bend) from 1900–1907, a single long-line corset from just before World War I (1911–1912), five corsets from the World War I era (1914–1918) which includes one designed for factory workers, one 1920s athletic corset, and three children's waists spanning 1890 to 1920.

Rather than being recreated from museum artifacts, these patterns are drafted from original publications issued before 1923. Each pattern comes with a brief historical overview, construction details, and examples sourced from historical catalogs.
