
For too long Nigeria and other African nations have tried to deal with their high youth unemployment numbers by convincing their youth population to become entrepreneurship. The fact that the numbers of the unemployed keeps growing in real terms means that the policies may have failed.
In this extract from my PhD dissertation I adopted a qualitative approach to try and explain why this could be the case and proffered alternative approaches that can help solve this all-important question - the question of employment generation for those who seek productive engagement.
