THINGS PERTAINING TO THE KINGDOM

After His resurrection, Christ did not immediately ascend to heaven. Instead, He spent forty notable days with His disciples, a period that was unlike any other in Scripture. During this time, He neither performed miracles nor preached to large crowds. Rather, He focused on the intimate people He was responsible for, “speaking of the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God” (Acts 1:3). These were not mere conversations but foundational teachings that would end up shaping the mindset, message and mission of the apostles, as they went on to pioneer the early Church.

In those forty days, He nurtured and prepared a people who would carry the torch of the Kingdom to the ends of the earth. He laid the final bricks in their understanding, recalibrating their expectations, opening the Scriptures to them (Luke 24:27), and revealing how everything written in the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms all pointed to Him (Luke 24:44).

This book, “Things Pertaining to the Kingdom,” is a 40-day journey patterned after those sacred post-resurrection days, inviting you, as the 21st century disciple, to sit with Him again and to hear Him unfold the mystery, beauty, and power of the Kingdom.

Every day, there is a SCRIPTURE FOCUS, a DEVOTIONAL TEACHING, REFLECTION QUESTIONS, a PRAYER, and an ACTION STEP.

The goal is not just information, but transformation. As Jesus did then, so He desires now: to raise citizens who live for a Kingdom that cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12:28), and who would carry the message of that Kingdom with boldness to the ends of the earth.

It takes 40 days for your heart and soul to experience a complete transformation when exposed to anything consistently for that period of time. If not exposed constantly, the result may vary and the effect unpredictable. But if the exposure is intense and consistent, whatever you behold and expose your soul/heart to continually for 40 days, will become a part of you.

You only need 40 days of exposing your mind intensely to the word for a complete mind renewal to take place which produces a transformation on any given area of your life.

It is not a mistake that Jesus took 40 days apart before starting His ministry. That was the period He took to adjust His consciousness to power.

It is not a mistake that He took His disciples apart teaching them 40 days after His resurrection before they started their ministry.

Don’t say you can’t change your habits or transform your life. You simply haven’t taken the necessary steps to do so.

40 days is just 1 month and 10 days.

You have 9 of it every year.

That is 9 opportunities to transform your life yearly.

Moses did it.

Jesus did it.

The Apostles did it.
