Nigerians home and abroad, future generations on this day I say to you that yesterday pains hurts indeed, today is another day to amends, and tomorrow can be a brighter day for us & the world by the dreams that we have held on to bring us this far.
What type country do I envisage?
I see a future for Nigerians where we don't line up every morning at the passport office as early as 4am at some places with the sole aim to immigrate abroad a.k.a japa even though it's a universal law and allowed
practice since the advert of civilization to migrate from place to place in search of greener pastures but the alarming drive should be stopped.
I desire a time where someone from Sokoto State and a commoner from Ebonyi can comment on a matter and refer to each other as brothers not a Northerner or Southern and when discussing religious matters and
cultural beliefs, each man refers to how it affects their mental health not how the people involved because religion is a mental predisposition.
I desire a country now and for future generations where basic social amenities like pipe borne water, subsedized internet connection, affordable and accessible medical care, easily accessible land for housing and
good and cheap food for consumption. A country where there is price control and an absolute free market where you earn as you sell which touches every sector of the economy and every person whom is a citizen of the country is a shareholder at NNPC, our own oil company as well can collectively purchase oil blocks.
A country of equal opportunities for everyone no matter their tribe, beliefs or religion. I desire for every young child and future generations, quality education at every level which is cheap, updated and accessible. Indeed knowledge is power and an educated man is a liberated man. I pray our leaders realize that in addition to educating the child, we need to train the mind because the mind controls everything else.
We don't only need to attend school, we need to read books of great people as an inspiration to do more especially selfless service and community development initiatives.
