My Story and Why I Created This Course

I did not always find maths easy.

Throughout primary and secondary school, I struggled with the subject. For years, maths seemed difficult and frustrating. However, during my final year of secondary school, I finally discovered something that changed the direction of my life: maths could actually be simple when it was explained properly.

That discovery was so powerful that I gave up my childhood ambition of becoming a medical doctor and chose to become a maths teacher.

I decided that my best revenge against the maths that once troubled me would be to make it simple for others. I made a personal commitment that no child who came across me should continue to suffer because of maths.

That commitment has guided my teaching career for more than 12 years.

Today, I am a qualified and experienced teacher, registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria and recognised with Qualified Teacher Status in the United Kingdom. I am also the winner of the 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year Award.

I created The Esomnofu Maths Breakthrough to give learners the kind of explanation, encouragement and support I needed when I was younger.
