The Other Room and Other Poems by Mrs Ebidenyefa Tarila Nikade, PhD.

The five parts in The Other Room are keenly structured with pungent imagery pulsating varied emotions derived from unforeseen and some calculated darts of life, especially from man-kind. These emotions culminate in the poetic thrust of the poet persona as an intense observer and a reformer against vicious acts which in most cases derived from the deliberate abundance of the heart to please self in relationships, politics, etc. Thus, the poems present underlying causal nexus eating up bonds and opportunities worth protecting. As aptly put by the poet, “…the square pegs in round holes are ruining everything and holding us back.” This absurdity affects all spheres of life and the poet reawakens the reader’s conscience for genuine change; be it in the politics of “the other room” or boardrooms.
