Osahon became the editor of the Clonk Magazine eventually after swimming through the turbulent tidings of Providence. After squatting with his friends for some months in Lagos, he eventually got a job with The CLONK Weekly Magazine. He could have started working earlier if he remained with the Ighodalos, who had all the connections to get him a job sooner. But he overreacted when Mrs. Adesua was trying to resolve the conflict between him and the daughter of a friend, his lover, Ngozi Mba. Osahon stormed out of the Igbodalo's house, cutting off the precious relationship between him and the family. Not long after that, Engineer Efosa died, but not before they met on the matter. Up to now, nobody knew that anything adulterous happened between him and Mrs. Ighodalo. The benefactor still helped him to finish university but was not alive to help him use his contacts to get a job.

Osahon became an orphan at the age of eleven. The parents died in a road accident. His maternal uncle, Barrister Obaro Akhigbe, offered to take care of him from then on. He joined the family in Benin City. But he had to return to the village to stay with his grandparents when the burden became too much for the Akhigbes’. He stayed with Pa Itua and Mrs. Ose Akhigbe in the village of Ewu, west of Ekpoma, for some time. He participated in the farming enterprise of Pa Itua with five full-grown workers who had never been to the city. It was a great experience. They saw him as a hero.

He had been attending the Catholic Church, where he got very close to Father Michael Francis. As the priest, the Reverend Father connected him to the Ighodalos, who offered to sponsor him to the University. Engineer Efosa Ighodalo accommodated him in his mansion in Lagos. He passed the JAMB exams and got admission into the prestigious University of Lagos, where he studied Mass Communication. Prior to this, the benefactor got a job for him at the Horizon Bookshop owned by Mr. Ola Balogun, which spurred him to study more and nurtured his dream of becoming a celebrated writer.

Osahon, in his third year, started an amorous relationship with Ngozi Mba, whom he met in the Catholic Church after one of the church services. The relationship was heading towards marriage until Ngozi Mba broke his heart. Her double-dealing with Chinedu came into the open. Osahon caught them red-handed, and that ended the promising courtship. It was in the process of Mrs. Adesua trying to resolve the matter that Osahon overreacted and stormed out of the residence of the Ighodalos. Attempts by his grandparents to make him marry Idia were subtly rejected by him.

He completed his university education and travelled to another state in the country for his youth service. All this time, he had cut off tie from the Ighodalos despite the fact that the engineer intervened to bring him back, but he never went back. When he came back from the youth service, getting a job became a herculean task. After squatting with his friends in their flat for some time, the publisher of the CLONK MAGAZINE gave him a job. He rose to the top and became the editor of the Weekly Magazine.

Onomen Ighodalo, a Chemistry graduate of the University of Ibadan and the daughter of his benefactor, the late Engineer Efosa Ighodalo, met him accidentally at the Horizon Bookshop, where he came to negotiate on behalf of his employer for a book supply meant for a community empowerment program being organized by his politically ambitious boss. Indeed, it was a historical meeting. He was offered five percent of the deal for bringing the sumptuous contract; the same day, Onomen came back into his life, and they started a marital relationship soon after that reunion. The secret relationship between him and Onomen’s mother been eternally buried to avoid any unforeseen crisis.

Mrs. Adesua Ighodalo never opposed their courtship and marriage. Her sexual encounter with Osahon that fateful night was not to be remembered.
