'In 1980, at the age of seventeen, I witnessed a monumental picture of a woman in agony of a psychological despondency which eventually led to her death. Her demise was believed to be a result of infidelity. But more worrisome was the fact that the man, her partner in crime, was set free. I grew up with this horrid nightmare of the depth to which traditional mores disrespect female feeling. In 2004,I tried to gather this historic brouhaha into a theatrical piece. Using an altar of drama as a vehicle of moral justice, I made a satirical evocation of the hypocrisy of male folk where I raised more questions than answers on male chauvinism. Nevertheless, the comic portrayal of obnoxious tradition with a demonstration of a fascinating revelation of evil in the society makes The blind gods a heartrending drama of all times.'
