Beyond The Rim

Beyond the Rim follows Chike Obasi, an engineering student from Umuahia, once mocked as a loser, who joins his university basketball team that has never won a championship.

Balancing tough courses with endless training, Chike struggles through rejection, scorn, and self-doubt. Along the way, he builds bonds with diverse teammates, earns the quiet support of Ngozi (Law), faces jealousy from Halima (Physiotherapy), and flirts with distraction through Amara (Medicine).

As the university tournament heats up, Chike rises as a Shooting Guard, even while rivals target him with injuries and mind games. Family calls and academic pressures weigh on him, but his resilience shines through.

In the finals, he sees a kaleidoscope of his past struggles and growth, fighting for both victory and self-worth. The story closes not just with a win, but with Chike finding love—teaching Ngozi basketball as romance blooms—proving he has truly gone from loser to winner, beyond the rim.
