Beauty Is Not Enough

Beauty is a wonderful gift which can attract attention, create a positive first impression and sometimes open doors. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look beautiful, dressing well, taking care of your body or appreciating the beauty you possess. The problem begins when beauty becomes the only thing you believe you have to offer. We live in a generation and society where physical appearance receives enormous attention. Young girls and women are constantly surrounded by images telling them what beauty should look like. Social media has intensified this pressure. Perfect photographs, carefully chosen angles, filters, makeup, expensive clothes and edited lifestyles can create the impression that looking attractive is the ultimate measure of a woman’s worth. As a result, some young women spend tremendous energy building their appearance while giving too little attention to building their lives. There is nothing wrong with improving how you look, but while you improve your appearance, what are you doing about your mind? What are you doing about your character, education, skills, attitude, finances and future? This is why I wrote Beauty Is Not Enough.
