This story is about the memoir of Chief (Dr.) Mrs. Nike Davies-Okundaye. She grew-up from a humble background, she did not have the luxury of being highly educated to the echelon of academics but she had the luxury of growing-up in a family
of artists who used their hands to create art.
She carried this legacy with her throughout the thick and thin of life until she carved a niché for herself as the modern icon, living legend of Adiré, a Yoruba fabric-making pattern. She trained other women how to do it.
She went on to become an icon of Visual Arts with her works appearing in the world’s greatest museums and galleries.
