Jezebel in the Bible was a Princess of Sidon. Ahab the King of Israel took her to be his wife. Sidon was one of the surrounding nations that God warned the Israelites not to inter-marry but Ahab disobeyed that command.

Jezebel grew into a wicked queen in Israel perpetuating all kinds of evil, the height of which was killing the Lord's Prophets. She filled the land of Israel with gods from Sidon and other surrounding nations. She set up priests to serve in the temples of those gods. And she enticed the people of Israel into worshipping and sacrificing to them.
