An evil goddess is imprisoned in the bowels of a tree and consigns the kingdom of Nọ̀sifá to drought and starvation by stealing the sun from the sky. A desperate gamble ensues. Dẹ́bí Gbamìsi, chosen to free the sun-stealing deity, must sacrifice twin children to break the malevolent tree's grip. But vengeance simmers beneath the goddess's chains. Can the Dẹ́bí save her people or will she doom them to eternal darkness?

Across the kingdom in a small town, a little commoner girl has but one peculiar wish; to be adopted by the queen in the hopes that she can be crowned a princess and have a better life. She goes to visit a mysterious priest to make her wish come true but instead sets in motion the greatest catastrophe to ever befall the kingdom of Nọ̀sifá.
