About This Journal
Grief is not a sign of weakness. It is the language of love.
Whether your loss was sudden or expected, recent or long carried, this twelve-week devotional journal was written for you. It will not rush you. It will not minimise what you are walking through. It will simply walk beside you, week by week, with Scripture, prayer, and the gentle invitation to heal at your own pace.
Rooted in the New King James Version of the Bible and written with deep pastoral care, each week offers a biblical theme drawn from the truth of God's Word, a story from Scripture that speaks directly to the experience of grief, a guided prayer, a practical action to carry you through the week, and reflection prompts with space to write your own thoughts and prayers.
Over twelve weeks, you will be invited to give yourself permission to grieve without guilt, encounter God's nearness in the middle of your pain, bring your honest questions and laments before Him, find rest for a body and soul that grief has exhausted, name the specific losses beneath your sorrow, discover the healing power of community, practise gratitude even when it feels impossible, rediscover your identity beyond what has been lost, honour the memory of your loved one in meaningful ways, take your first steps toward living again, consider how your pain might one day become someone else's healing, and anchor your heart in the eternal hope that death is not the final word.
Who This Journal Is For
This journal is for anyone who is grieving. It does not matter how long ago the loss was, how it happened, or whether your faith feels strong or barely there. If you are carrying loss, this journal has space for you.
It can be used privately in your own quiet time, alongside a trusted friend or pastoral carer, or as part of a bereavement support group. A companion Facilitator's Guide is also available for group leaders and pastoral carers who wish to use this journal as the basis for a twelve-week bereavement recovery group.
