To Adanna, her image was everything.

How wouldn't it be when she was entrusted by her late Igbo father to pursue her education and better the family in his absence? The plan was simple: get good grades, a good job, enough to send money back home, and live the model life.

After all, she managed to get into her dream university in Michigan, putting her that much closer to her dream life.

Everything was going according to plan until it wasn't.

Waking up in a strange hotel on a school night wasn't part of the plan. Neither was waking up naked next to her dead boyfriend, Rotimi. Adanna was a lot of things: a liar, a serial manipulator, but she was not a killer, and she was not going to go down without a fight.
