Conspiracy!

Having received intelligence report by 8th of June 1993 that Abiola will win the upcoming June 12 election, with the military establishment fully against the emergence of Abiola --- whether by the polls or not. By now,zeribe's ABN returned to the court by 10th of June 1993 where the judge delivered her judgement by 9pm the same day --- NEC was restrained from holding the election.

By 11th of June 1993, an emergency NSCDC meeting held, where it was obvious that they cannot cancel the upcoming Presidential election so late in the day. By midnight the same day, it was obvious that Abiola had won over 19 states.

By 15th of June, Nzeribe's ABN returned to court again. This time, Justice Dahiru Saleh, the Chief Judge of the Abuja High Court, ordered that, "The Presidential Election conducted on the 12th of Juen 1993 in defiance of the court order dated 10th June 1993, was improper and illegal and therefore null and void. NEC is therefore restrrained from releasing any of the results. The chairman and official of NEC will be charged with contempt of court if this ruling is disregarded."

To make matters worse, South West counter-ordered that the June 12 election results must be released, throwing the country into a judicial and political crisis. Professor Omoruyi was summon to Aso Rock again by the 15th of June 1993, by the IBB boys, with Babangida himself presiding; where he was subtly threatened to get behind the military version to the impasse.

With the two political parties in crisis and the nation in turmoil, Babangida privately asked Omoruyi to see him in Aso Rock on Sunday 20th June 1993, where he bared his mind regarding the conspiracy militating against the release of the result and the clear and present danger of threat to his own life.
