Unleashing The Enforcer Within

The spiritual life is one of growth, challenge and ever deepening understanding of God's truths. As believers in Christ, we seek to align our lives more fully with Biblical principles and God's will for us. Yet this is not always an easy path. Temptations, distractions and worldly attitudes can pull us off course. This is why we must keep our focus firmly fixed on God and His perfect plans. In his letter to the Galatians, Paul reminds us that "God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap" (Galatians 6:7). There are consequences for our actions, both positive and negative. As we sow goodness, compassion and obedience to God's laws, we reap blessings and favor. But sowing sin and disobedience leads to hardship and spiritual decay.

As James 1:25 states, God's laws are meant to liberate us. "But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." By aligning our lives fully with God's commandments, we gain freedom from sin and the fruits of righteousness. Yet fully living by God's spiritual laws requires determination and discipline. We must master the art of rooting out sin in all its forms and embracing holiness. This involves careful self-examination, heartfelt repentance when we fall short, and committed training in godly living. We must become not just hearers, but doers of God's perfect laws.
