The prophetic rests on a foundation of the love of God. Our receiving and operating in the prophetic is based on the love of the Father. We see in the following scriptures: John 3:16, Luke 12:32, and Romans 8:32; how God gives us His best- His son, the kingdom, and all things- just because He loves us. Therefore, the primary way to trigger faith for working and walking in the prophetic is the way of love- love for the Father and creation.
Suffice it to say that the new birth and the redemptive work of Christ are qualifiers for operating in the prophetic. John 3:3-8 shows us that that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit; this means that they can interact with the spirit realm and they can see and access the kingdom of God. Only those who receive the new life offered in Christ have the hope of accessing and functioning in the prophetic.
After receiving new life, we ask and receive the Holy Spirit who is vital to the supernatural and the prophetic as He searches and reveals to us the deep and hidden things of the Father (1 Cor. 2:7-14). Our access to the prophetic is by faith (Gal. 3:2, Rom. 5:2). This faith builds expectations in our spirits (Luke 5:4, 2Kgs. 13:15, 2Kgs. 4:3) causing us to prepare for and function in the supernatural rather than be passive.
Being that humanity is voice-activated (Gen. 1:3), utterances are vital in the prophetic (Acts 2:4), and without them, not much will work. To activate and sustain the prophetic, one must live a life of strong confessions. It is the voice of the Lord, which is prophetic, that confers glory and honour on believers (2 Pet.1:17). It is what we live by and are sustained by.
The Father desires to be seen, He desires to be known, face to face (Num. 12:8, Ex. 33:11-17). Even Isaiah 30:20 intimates us with the knowledge that our teachers can no longer be hidden. The Lord desires a generation of seekers; it is His cry that people seek Him because He is willing to be found (Pro. 8:17, Jer. 29:13).
As such, our books are always open before God and He desires that we comprehend them (Heb. 10:7, Ps. 56:8, Ps. 139:16, Rev. 20:12) and the prophetic gives us the avenue to comprehend these mysteries (1 Cor. 2:10, 1 Cor. 13:2, 1 Cor. 14:3).
