
For sixty years, Nigerians gaze has been fixed on a single point: Aso Rock.
We wake up and check the news for the President’s name. We go to bed cursing the Presidency for the price of bread, the state of the national grid, and the insecurity at our borders. We have turned the Office of the President into a national secular god an entity solely responsible for our salvation or our doom.
But this is a convenient lie.
