“Could you please put in a good word for me?”

There are certain places where your voice cannot be heard. There are certain levels where even your well-crafted words are worthless. There are corridors where your seemingly heavy accolades and achievements are weightless. There are certain people you cannot convince by yourself, but you need someone to put in a good word on your behalf. This does not mean that you are a bad person, or you don’t have the required qualifications, but it means that there are privileges or opportunities that are reserved only for people who know the people that matter. In certain spheres, nothing you do or say matters if you don’t know those who matter and if they don’t put in a good word for you.

In light of the above-mentioned facts, what’s the possibility of a sinful man to stand before a holy God to speak for himself? Can we be sure that the words of sinful humanity will carry any weight in the holy court of Divinity? Or, do we, humans really need a qualified or holy being to “put in a good word” for us?
