About the Book
The book is a compendium on the revolts and revolutions that convulsed the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region between December 2010 and late 2013. It addresses such contemporary issues as relating to the role of youth and working class, the role of social media and mass media, the state of working class movements, aside addressing the fundamental political economic foundation of these revolts and revolutions. It also places the revolts and revolutions within the context of global capitalism and its geopolitics.
It is a historical material on not only the MENA revolts and revolutions, but also third world political economy, geopolitics and imperialism. It is written in simple and accessible manner that makes it readable for ordinary observer of politics and economy, while also addressing important contemporary issues in global political economy. It is a library document for students, workers, activists, trade unionists, leftists, socialists, scholars, and the general reader interested in alternative narrative on global political economy.
