ABOUT THE MBARI LAB
The Mbari Lab is a nurturing ground to aid the growth of emerging screenwriters, by equipping them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and resources to improve their craft and develop their unique voices.
Applicants will participate in a 3-month intensive program focused on developing their stories into a full script, after which they will then pitch to top industry professionals that they may otherwise not have access to.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
· All writers of all genders
· Aged 18 and above
· All nationalities
· The story/script is an original work of the writer
· The story/script has not been developed in another story development lab or film school.
CLASS STRUCTURE:
. 3 Semesters divided into a 4-week writers' room; a 6-week project phase; and a 2-week project review duration
. 3 days a week: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
. 4 hours per day: 11am -1pm WAT, 1:30pm - 3:30pm WAT
. The last 8-week project and project review phases are free of classes. It is individual-based with flexible hours to write or refine your scripts while staying connected with your mentors.

· When is the late submission deadline for the Mbari Lab?
The deadline is June 28, 2024.
· What is the resumption date?
July 2, 2024
. What is the duration of the Mbari Lab?
The Mbari Lab will last for 3 months.
· Does my registration automatically guarantee me a spot in the Mbari Lab?
Yes. Once you go through and complete all registration protocol, you automatically gain entry to the Mbari Lab.
· Do I need to submit a complete script to apply?
No. However, you are required to submit a pitch deck of the story you intend to develop in the lab.
. My script is not good enough. Can I submit it?
Yes. The Mbari Lab will train you and help you develop your script to an international industry standard.
· Can I apply for the Mbari Lab if I am not resident in Nigeria, or a Nigerian?
Yes. Anybody from anywhere across the world can apply for the Mbari Lab
· Will I receive funds to produce my story?
No. The Mbari Lab will not award production grants.
· Do I have to be physically present at the Mbari Lab?
No. The Mbari Lab is completely virtual.
