From Baálẹ̀ to Ọba: the Story of Ogbomoso Rulers

Ogbomoso is a city in Oyo State, Nigeria. Carved out of what was formerly the Western State of Nigeria, its founding has been put to somewhere between 1650 and 1750.The city has witnessed a long line of rulers who were initially Baálẹ̀s and then Ọbas. This research work, first undertaken in 1986 traces that line of rulership till date.
