THE VILLAGE BARREN WOMAN — PART ONE

By King Samuel

What happens when a peaceful village suddenly becomes a place of fear, loss, and unanswered questions?

In the quiet village of Irele, Ekiti State, life was simple. The villagers lived peacefully, worked their farms, and believed they knew everything about their community.

Until one night changed everything.

A terrifying attack strikes the village. Families are separated. Lives are lost. And some young girls disappear without a trace.

But one mysterious girl survives.

She has no clear memory of where she came from. She does not know where her family is. Even her name carries a mystery.

She is called Debits.

After years of hardship and uncertainty, fate brings her into the home of Ojediran, a humble palm-wine tapper and seller. What begins as an act of kindness slowly changes his family forever.

But Debits carries a past she does not fully understand.

Who is she?

Where did she really come from?

Why was she taken?

And why does her presence seem connected to events that happened long before she arrived in Ojediran’s home?
