What if character could be intentionally nurtured, one small choice at a time?
Children are constantly becoming. The question is: what are we helping them become?
The Character Building Journal is a faith-based 12 week journey designed to help children develop character in ways they can understand, practise and reflect on in their everyday lives.
Through simple devotionals, Bible verses, prayers, daily reflections, creative activities and weekly challenges, children are encouraged to move beyond knowing what is right to actually practising it.
They will explore qualities such as kindness, compassion, generosity, honesty, faithfulness, courage, perseverance and self control, learning how these virtues can show up at home, in friendships, at school and in their walk with God.
From learning about character to living it
The goal is not simply for your child to complete a journal or learn what each virtue means. It is to give them opportunities to take what they are learning and practise it in everyday life.
Each week gives them something practical to think about, try, reflect on and carry into their real world.
What this means for your child
• More intentional character development, helping them recognise the kind of person they are becoming.
• A deeper connection between faith and everyday life, helping them see that following Jesus is not just about what they believe, but how they live.
• Greater self awareness, giving them space to think about their choices, emotions, actions and the impact they have on others.
• The opportunity to practise good character through small, practical challenges they can carry into their everyday lives.
• A growing heart for others, learning to show kindness, compassion, generosity and faithfulness in tangible ways.
And for parents, guardians and teachers...
You do not have to wonder, “How do I teach my child character?” and leave it at that.
This journal gives you a simple starting point for intentional conversations, reflection and character formation without making it feel like another lesson or lecture.
You can use it to open conversations with your child, notice areas where they are growing, encourage them when they struggle, and celebrate the small wins along the way.
Because character is formed in the small choices we make every day.
And every small seed matters.
Give your child the opportunity to grow in character, deepen their faith and become more of the person God created them to be.
