DRONE TRAINING MODULE

This training course is designed to equip you with the necessary skills to operate drones/thermal drones effectively.

Over the course, you will learn about types of drones, thermal imaging technology, drone operations, safety protocols, and legal considerations, along with hands-on training exercises and practical flight simulations.

The Training is divided into 2 Major modules: Theory and Practical.

OUTLINE:

Introduction to UAVs/UASs/RPAs Overview of drone terminologies, classification, and structure Introduction to different drone types applications. Nigerian drone regulations (NCAA requirements, registration, and flight restrictions) Overview of drone applications in security operations.

Drone Applications & Safety Protocols Pre-flight safety protocols, reconnaissance surveys, and mission planning

Calibration & Camera Setup

Theoretical aspects of drone, camera, and controller calibration Professional camera settings and functions for aerial inspections.

Basic Flight Operations Introduction to manual flight control and automatic operations (takeoff and return) Basic flight manoeuvres and understanding telemetry data.

Advanced Flight Skills.

Hands-on flight exercises focusing on manoeuvrability (straight line)

Advanced Flight Skills.

Hands-on flight exercises focusing on manoeuvrability (cyclic patterns) Practicing FPV mode and emergency return procedures.

Emergency Response & Data Extraction.

Hands-on flight exercises focusing on manoeuvrability.

Simulation drills for loss of connection, aircraft incursion, and other emergencies .

Drone data extraction, analysis, and remote sensing overview.

Introduction to Thermal Imaging Theoretical foundation on thermography and thermal sensor operations Fundamentals of image processing for thermal data.

Practical Thermal Drone Operations.

Hands-on training with thermal sensors and integration with RGB imaging Field exercises in thermal imaging applications (e.g., solar panel inspection).
